I am active with the Franklin Co. Gen. & Hist. Society and the SW Franklin Co. Hist. Soc., and a member of The Ohio Genealogical Society and several of its member chapters. My mother was raised in a house at 113 E. Hudson St. and graduated North High in 1934. I have a scrapbook of many of her classmates plus her yearbooks.

My mother's people came to Clinton Twp., old North Columbus very early on,. The pioneers were:
Balser & Mary Eve (Hensel) Hess - 1788 - west of the Olentangy River
David Beers & Elizabeth (Schlege)l Beers - 1804 - his cabin the oldest house in Franklin Co. - on North St.
Jemima Zinn - ca 1820 (m. Conrad Beers, a grocer)
Mathias and Jacob & Emeline Owen (Lakin) Slyh -1829 - east and west of the Olentangy River
Samuel S. Kinnear ca 1832 - east of the river, surveyor of old North Columbus
John Fedal & Cathrina (Sager/Seeger) Volk 1850 - Dodridge & High -merchants - Ramlow Bldg
