Parker Popular Players
This photo is 1915. Parker's Players was the name of a number of bands booked by Charles Parker, a violinist and barber. He booked as many as thirty-eight band all across the Midwest, but this was his number one band. By 1918 this band was known as Sammy Stewart's Singing Syncopators and in 1928 they were the band that opened the Ogden/Lincoln Theater.
Left to right: Millard Robbins, flute, Sam Stewart, piano, Paul Jordon, violin, Rennan Robbins, trumpet and Wendell Phillip Talbert. The Kaiserhoff Hotel was located on Gay Street west of North High, at Wall Alley.
