King-Lincoln District, Eddie Saunders Live Radio Broadcast from Lincoln Ballroom, 1960s

Eddie Saunders was the mayor of Black Columbus from 1948 through his death in 1999 at aged ninety. He began broadcasting in 1946 and for years was host of Sermons in Song on WVKO Radio.

Very popular, he brought rhythm and blues and jazz to the airwaves in Columbus through WVKO and was wonderful host and community leader.
