Stewart Avenue Elementary, 40 E Stewart Ave, in 1920

When opened in 1873, this German Village area school taught German in all eight grades. In 1892 facility was called City Park School, in 1893 it became Schiller School, in 1894 board members settled on Stewart Avenue School.

Fourth Street Elementary, 400 S 4th St, originally opened as the German Central Grammar School

Fourth Street Elementary originally opened as the German Central Grammar School in December, 1863. This school complex was also known as Public School #5. This view is looking south on S 4th St.
