Columbus Metropolitan Library Whitehall Branch, 4371 E Broad St, in 1999

Construction contract let 4/10/1958. Originally opened on February 2, 1959, the Whitehall Branch was remodeled and a 2,400 square foot addition was added in 1993. Area residents attended the re-dedication party on June 14, 1993. The original Branch, known as Town & Country Library, opened at 53 Town Road on 10/2/1950.

The second Northside Branch Library, 1100 N High St in 1940

By 1940 it was evident that a branch library was needed to serve the area between downtown and the university district. Shown here is the second Northside Branch Library. The first branch opened at 944 N. High St. on 5/21/1940 and moved to this location 12/22/1958.

This was the first Northside Branch Library, 944 N High St.

It opened on May 21, 1940. The branch was moved to 1100 N. High St. in 1958.

Columbus Metropolitan Library Northern Lights Branch, 3431 Cleveland Ave.

North Linden residents used this Northern Lights Branch 1956-1977. Facility moved to 3401 Cleveland Avenue, 4/4/77 and then to 4093 Cleveland Avenue, 8/30/93.
